Topic of business: 3 more break-ins the week of Jan. 24th 2008

Suggestions given by attendees:

1.        replacing gates – make them higher

2.        extending railing

3.        add cover to east-side walkway

4.        keep gates closed when leaving the complex

5.        don’t leave valuables visible in cars

6.        Kathy priced security company ~ having a person walking the grounds of the complex would run about $15 an hour = about $2100 a month = $35 per unit

7.        add a secondary gate in the underground garage

8.        add a gate at the elevator/stairwell entrance (from the underground parking)

9.        Ron to increase the wattage of the lights in the underground parking

10.        Kelly ~ opposed to having security company on complex premises.  Money can be used to improve the security of the complex.

11.        Costco has video security systems for $1200

12.        back of condo does not look nice, causing a “Broken Window” Symdrom

13.        add bright flood lights with motion sensors

14.        repaint the back of the complex

15.        remove netting on underground parking windows

16.        need to act quickly

17.        upgrade lock system on all gate entries

18.        need to tighten springs to allow gate doors to close on their own

19.        look into creating easy access for police entry to complex

20.        add code box to back gate

21.        add security mirrors at entrance of stairs

22.        change light in stairwells
