February 2022

Minutes from Village Grove HOA Board Meeting

Wednesday, February 9, 2022

  • Meeting started 7:00 PM
  • In attendance:  Tammy, Dorian, Stephanie, Bill, and Sid
  • Positions were voted on and were agreed-upon by unanimous decision. The positions are as follows:

President – Tammy

Vice president – Bill

Treasurer – Dorian

Secretary – Sid

Maintenance Liaison – Stephanie

  • Dorian presented final example of signs for complex. “ft” and “in” will be smaller and spacing will be fixed for additional clarity
  • Tammy presented about “Do Not Feed the Fish” signage; unanimous vote to order two new signs at $22.50 each
  • Dorian presented about the ground cover. Still waiting for a quote from Green Touch (although Green Touch was ready to start work)
  • Bill will contact Fil from Green Touch and tell them to hold until the electric is done and we see the quote they sent to Brockman Properties
  • Dorian reported that Iris told him that the new employees at Green Touch are doing a better job
  • Tammy and Bill will meet up with the electrician
  • The TH light that is too bright will be replaced next week; new fixture ETA is February 14, 2022.
  • Tammy and Dorian did a walk-through on the wood
  • Dorian presented about the pillars. The plans are done and are being submitted for feedback or approval. Once the final approval is given, the contractors can start pulling permits. We will need three bids from commercial contractors. We need to follow up with Alyceanne.
  • The streams look terrible. The Pond Doctors are aware and trying to fix the situation, but due to a plant shortage they are limited to what they can do.
  • The elevator repair people sent an email that they are too busy to do requested projects, as well as their contracted maintenance tasks. Tammy will respond.
  • WYZE doorbells have now been approved. Since there are now so many video doorbells available on the market, homeowners may now submit a picture and brand to the HOA for approval.
  • Parking spots prices have stayed the same amount for many years. The board agreed by unanimous decision to increase the rental cost from $35 to $40 per month. This will be effective May 1, 2022 (this will give residents time to plan/budget before the change goes into effect).
  • Some HOA residents have begun paying down their HOA dues balances, but Cathy will need a 30 day notice to get her balance under $1000 or her account will be turned over to collections.
  • The board agreed unanimously to put Village Grove on the Long Beach Locations website to see if we could get some additional funding for the HOA community by allowing our community to be filmed for TV and movies.
  • The HOA board will do a walk-through in May. This will be announced at the next meeting to give the residents an opportunity to address any issues. Meeting date will be chosen closer to May.
  • Next HOA homeowner meeting will be Monday, May 2 at 7 PM
  • Next HOA board meeting will be Monday, May 2 at 6 PM.
  • The board voted unanimously to have a July 4th pancake breakfast. Dorian will bring the grill, pancake batter & syrup. Board members will discuss what else to bring when it is closer to the event. Residents will have an opportunity to bring treats as well, if they would like. A sign with details on the Village Grove July 4th Pancake Breakfast will be posted closer to the event.
  • Stephanie will talk to Rick regarding the lighting.
  • Stephanie will talk to Rick about getting a quote to install a package dropbox.
  • The call box needs to have new numbers entered into it. In June, the numbers will be changed in the call box. This will be announced in the May HOA meeting.
  • Stephanie will email Alyceanne about changing the pool and gardener days so they do not come on the same day.
  • Meeting adjourned at 8:33 PM.
  • HOA info will be posted to Village Grove Facebook page.
